Synthetic, Bio-Engineered Humans Just Around The Corner

Two recent reports, which you can read here and here, detail advances scientists are making towards regenerating human tissue and building artificial human ‘parts’ that are just as good if not better than the ones nature gave us. The breakthroughs present several extraordinary benefits to mankind, especially amputees and people with degenerative diseases. They also present several frightening scenarios. For instance, imagine a world where you cannot tell the difference between a human who was born naturally, and one who was built.
Speculative fiction authours, like the great Philip K. Dick, have envisioned such scenarios, and for the most part the outcomes are not good (see Blade Runner, based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?).
Granted, there are those among us who believe that synthetic humans already walk among us, serving the nefarious purposes of their creators. Some have speculated that the Illuminati employ several androids who have risen to places of high power. These “human” puppets insulate them from the vast criminal conspiracies they are carrying out. One theorist believes that Bernard Madoff, now infamous for his multi-billion dollar investment fraud that’s ruined thousands of lives, is a synthetic human.
“The problem with these synthetic humans is that the technology is getting to a place where it is next to impossible to differentiate them from a real human,” says Boyd Theodred, a member of A.A.R.D.T., the Anti-Android Research & Development Team. “We aren’t being given the tools we need to weed out these imposters. And trust us, their intentions are not good. We have intel that new android research will give these phonies superhuman abilities. We need to stop this before it starts.”
Many are skeptical of A.A.R.D.T.’s claims. The group is widely regarded as a bunch of loonies. Nonetheless, the research we linked to above is real.
What do you think? Synthetic humans – dangerous or full of potential?

The Microscopic Bio-Robot Slave Rebellion

How do you fight something you can’t even see?
That’s a question plaguing those who fear developing technology that will produce microscopic bio-robot slaves. The plan is to design a kind of bacteria-cyborg which can be built smaller and more efficiently then some of the more advanced nanotechnologies out there (read about it here). But many scientific watchdog groups are extremely concerned about the possibility of these bacteria-cyborg slaves rebelling against their creators and wreaking havoc on mankind.
Bobby Binder, a member of scientific watchdog group SARS-FR, said the following:
“We’re talking about equipping microscopic bacteria with the weapons of the future. Are we mad? Bacteria are invisible to the naked eye. They can penetrate the pores of our skin. They outnumber mankind billions to one. Bacteria is one of the most deadly killers on the planet. And let’s not forget that they are also one of the most adaptable of all organisms. How do you think we’d fight them, if, let’s say, they decide to rebel agains their human masters? Think about it. Watch the Fantastic Voyage, and you’ll see what bacteria would do to humans if given the chance.”
Proponents of microscopic bio-robot slaves (bacteria-cyborgs) say they could aid in a wide range of fields, including medical technology.
Where do you stand? Microscopic Bio-Robot Slaves: helpers to mankind OR potential destroyers?

Rats, Is There Anything They Can’t Do? Part 3
Well, it’s finally happened. Researchers have figured out how to create biological computers using rat brains. We are one step closer to the creation of Rat Cyborgs. But these breakthroughs open doors to even more frightening vistas of the future, a future in which machines CONTROLLED by rat brains CONTROL the world! Some day mankind might fall prey to the whims of super-powered Rat lords!
We can take comfort in the fact some rats appear to be decent creatures. Take for instance the bomb sniffing rats (read here). But we’ve also all heard stories of plague carrying rats. And then there was also this prophetic movie.
So where does that leave us? Only with frightening speculations as to where rat brain powered machines and computers might lead. What are your visions of this future?
Intelligent, Monkey-size Helicopters Built by Researchers

AI HELICOPTERS LOOK LIKE THEY’RE THE PERFECT SIZE FOR MONKEY CYBORGS
Stanford University’s news service reports that a group of students have built a group of artificially intelligent helicopters that can “learn” how to fly by watching other helicopters. Andrew Ng, the professor directing the student research team, states that the maneuvers the helicopters perform are “”by far the most difficult aerobatic maneuvers flown by any computer controlled helicopter.” The picture below shows one of the helos, that looks just about the right size for a monkey pilot.
Interest has been expressed in using this technology to create unmanned helicopters that could aid in war zones or disaster areas.
The research has shown that the helicopters can perform complex maneuvers human pilots could not, either manually or by remote. This is troubling because these super helicopters with brains of their own could fall into the wrong hands. And since they are the perfect size for monkey pilots, concerns are arising that they could fall into the hands of the monkey cyborgs. This would be a formidable weapon in their super strong robotic hands.

Monkey Brains Infiltrate Internet

Reports have surfaced that the monkey cyborgs can use their powerful brains to infiltrate the internet, as shown by experiments in which they control a humanoid robot in Japan from their base in the US.
The report on InfoWorld.com reports that a pair of monkey cyborgs located at Duke University, NC, can now control a robot in Japan known as CBi.
